Introducing “Fierce” Beer
A collaboration between The Chelsy Marise Giles Foundation & Athentic Brewing Co.
Raise a glass to epilepsy awareness!
Chelsy’s Story
Chelsy Marise Giles was diagnosed with epilepsy as a child after experiencing both grand mal and absence seizures. Living with epilepsy meant countless medications, tests, and hospital visits—but she refused to let it define her. She often kept her condition private, not wanting others to worry or treat her differently, even though seizures sometimes left her injured and exhausted.
Despite these challenges, Chelsy lived with resilience and joy. She was creative, funny, intelligent, loving, kind, and courageous—and most of all, fierce. This spirit inspired the tagline of Chelsyfest: “BE FIERCE. FIGHT EPILEPSY.”
Chelsy’s courage and determination continue to guide the work of the Chelsy Marise Giles Foundation. By raising awareness, funding education, and building supportive communities, we honor her life and fight for a future where no one living with epilepsy feels alone.
Collaboration with Athentic Brewing Co.
This year, we’re thrilled to partner with our friends at Athentic Brewing Co. to create a limited-edition ‘Be Fierce” Beer. Just like Chelsy herself, this beer is vibrant, full of life, and meant to bring people together. Every pour celebrates her memory while raising awareness for epilepsy.
A portion of proceeds from every pint goes directly to support epilepsy education and research through The Chelsy Marise Giles Foundation and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and Camp Carpe Diem.
The Chelsyfest Beer will be available starting [launch date] at Athentic Brewing Co. in Athens, GA. Join us at Chelsyfest on October 11, 2025, for the official toast, and raise a glass in memory of Chelsy. Be fierce. Fight epilepsy.
Why It Matters
Epilepsy affects more than 3.4 million people in the U.S., yet it remains widely misunderstood. SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) claims the lives of more than 1 in 1,000 people with epilepsy each year—something Chelsy’s story brings into sharp focus.
By sharing Chelsy’s story, we honor her life while working to end the stigma, isolation, and silence that so many living with epilepsy face. Through education, community, and events like Chelsyfest, we can raise awareness, fund research, and show people with epilepsy that they are not alone.
Every sip of the Chelsyfest Beer, every story shared, and every act of support brings us closer to that vision.
